About Kiersten
Birth is an incredible and miraculous privilege - something we get to do, not something we have to do.
Kiersten is deeply called to educate parents and facilitate empowering birth experiences for all families. She believes a positive birth is one where parents walk away feeling respected, informed, and empowered in their choices.
She approaches this transformative process with compassion, confidence, and a commitment to the most up-to-date evidence-based care. Kiersten provides guidance without judgment and is here to support and advocate for your unique wishes every step of the way.
In 2025, she began her own motherhood journey with the unmedicated hospital birth of her son. During her pregnancy, she encountered significant doubt and uncertainty from the medical establishment after learning her son has achondroplasia, the most common form of dwarfism. That experience ignited a deep passion to advocate for parents of children with disabilities, as well as parents who have disabilities themselves. She is committed to helping families understand their rights and guiding them in the beautiful experience they deserve.
Kiersten is so grateful to be training under the expert doulas at In Joy Birth and is especially passionate about supporting hospital births, serving as a bridge between families and providers.
With over 15 years as a professional dancer, she also offers private prenatal belly dance lessons to help prepare the body and mind for childbirth.
She would be honored to support you during this profound and beautiful season of life.
Kiersten is certified through In Joy Birth and pursues continuing education opportunities. She does not attend births without a midwife or physician present. It is her preference not to provide care for families that circumcise. Kiersten is happy to provide resources to curious parents regarding this topic.
